Elementary school program

Access Materials

After registering, you will receive a welcome email and access to in-class and virtual presentations and e-learning resources.

Your program guide includes optional classroom activities, posters and ancillary materials. Materials are made available via program emails and your online teacher folder.

Students receive a Take Action Kit of energy-efficient products, a Family Activity Guide and a Home Energy Worksheet to accompany the kit. DTE Energy offers incentives to teachers and students for submitting the Home Energy Worksheet.

Resources for remote learning:

If your students are with you in the classroom and/or virtual students are learning synchronously, you can show the recorded presentation if we cannot do a live version for your class.

The Energy Champions e-learning course can be used as an assignment over several days. We do not recommend requiring students to complete the entire course in one sitting. Students can prove they have completed course modules by submitting screenshots of the scoreboard page that appears between modules, or the final certificate can be printed/saved as a PDF and provided to you. If you want to embed the course in your learning management system as a SCORM file, your program contact will be happy to provide it. Note: this course is designed for upper elementary students. A digital copy of the Family Activity Guide is located below the course.

Kahoot! is an online quizzing platform that is free for teachers. We have designed a few Kahoot! quizzes that you can use as an alternative to paper and pencil pre/post surveys or enrichment. Feel free to duplicate them and edit for your own use.

Think! Energy Kahoot! 10 general knowledge questions.

Electricity Kahoot!  10 questions on electricity, conductors, insulators and circuits.
