Our safety culture extends beyond our walls to protect the customers we serve. Alongside public health officials, we are actively monitoring coronavirus (COVID-19) updates via the CDC and the State of Michigan. We are ready to support our schools and neighbors by providing additional web tools for teachers and students and extending the deadline for the return of the Home Energy Worksheets to June 15. If your family received a kit prior to the school closure, please utilize the tools on the families page to enhance your experience, then submit your Home Energy Worksheet online.
Think! Energy with Consumers Energy helps fourth through sixth grade students understand the impacts of energy from development of natural resources to efficient use. The 45 to 60-minute presentation conducted by professional educators from the National Energy Foundation gives teachers and students the understanding necessary to be an energy expert at home and at school. Each participant also receives a Take Action Kit with easy to install items that have a huge impact on energy use at home. Games, experiments and interactive content fit every learning style and empower students to be community leaders in energy efficiency.
The program is easy to implement, correlates to state learning standards and inspires participants to follow the Think! Energy philosophy – Think!, Talk! and Take Action!
