About the Out of the Rock Workshop

The Out of the Rock Workshop is an exciting way for kindergarten through eighth-grade teachers to enhance knowledge of rocks and minerals through hands-on activities!
The Idaho Mining Association will provide the following to 2019 participants:

  • A two day workshop
  • A stipend to assist rock and mineral education in the classroom
  • Rock and mineral lessons, Rock Music CD, rock posters, gold panning kit and rock and mineral kit with testing supplies and rock samples
  • An Idaho City field trip

Rock and Mineral Information

Mining gives us metals, sand, gravel, industrial materials, oil, coal and natural gas that we need to maintain our quality of life.
