How do you determine the amount of my mini-grant?

  • The full mini-grant amount is earned when 50% or more participants return worksheets. Duplicate forms and forms returned with no questions answered are discarded and do not count towards the grant.
  • Earn an Amazon e-Gift card when your class submits the Home Energy Worksheets online by the program deadline.
    • $100 for 50% or more
    • $50 for 30 – 49%
    • $25 for 30% or fewer submissions
  • Earn a bonus mini grant of $100 when your class submits surveys by the program deadline!

How long will I need to wait for my mini-grant?

  • Mini-grants are processed after a teacher reaches 50% of submitted Home Energy Worksheets (HEWs) or after the program deadline.
  • You will receive an email to verify online entries and when your mailed packet is received.
  • Log in at pas.nef1.org/teacher-portal/ with your email. This link is included in the emails from your scheduler for easy access. On this site you can see:
    • the number of HEWs we are expecting from you based on registration numbers and your current percentage returned
    • the grant you have earned to date and the status of your grant payment.

What are the rules for spending the grant money?

Grant funds can be used for any purpose the designated teachers choose that will benefit students.
